Around Town in South County: On Taste of Aliso Niguel 2015

Parents of Aliso Niguel presented the 8th Annual Taste of Aliso Niguel at the Laguna Niguel Design Center this past Saturday.     It is an annual tradition that supports Aliso Niguel High School's Clubs and Communities.

It was an engaging and entertaining event that featured Music and Food from restaurant and beverage providers including Slate 50/50 (a particluar favorite of ours), Citrus Fresh Grill, Bowl of Heaven and others.   Local Leaders including Capistrano Unified School District Members and members of the Aliso Viejo City Council joined the fun to mingle with the Community to be supportive of this institution.    One of the key highlights included a silent auction of memoraliba including a Magic Johnson authographed mini sky hook potrait.

Around Town in South County: Earth Day 2015 in Laguna Niguel

It was a beautiful day as hundreds of Volunteers came out to celebrate Earth day at the Laguna Niguel Botannical Preserve.   Volunteers spread out throughout the preserve to put up new plants, spread out mulch to insure the continued preservation of the Preserve.    Scouts and Scouters joined this day of service as they worked on the Botanical Preserve Trail to Eagle--one of the enduing symbols of service which was also note by #OCBSA in their recent commentary:

View of the Week: On Not Giving Up....

As we go "dark"and gear up for a new week throughout #Outsiders , we wanted to share this courtesy of +Jonathan Huie which we follow closely here @ #Outsiders that underscores some poignant advise as a new week dawns here throughout the #Outsiders network:

Don't give up.
There are too many nay-sayers out there who will try to discourage you.
Don't listen to them.
The only one who can make you give up is yourself.
- Sidney Sheldon

Keep moving. Don't stop. But don't rush.
Don't race around.
Sure and steady gets you there every time.
- Neale Donald Walsch

You make a mistake, you keep going.
- Linda Gray

Achievement seems to be connected with action.
Successful men and women keep moving.
They make mistakes, but they don't quit.
- Conrad Hilton

On the Prowl In South County: Around Town in Laguna Niguel

The last few weeks in Laguna Niguel has been quite interesting.      The CEPA Academy Graduation ceremony was held whereby A class of 20 Citizens were trained in the latest Emergency Preparedness techniques.   They were charged with evacuating victims after an naturally disaster at the old County Courthouse.    It was kind of ironic because the City has embarked an aggressive and interesting plan to create a vibrant and engaging Downtown which we hope to comment on over the ensuing days and weeks.  A Community meeting was held on it by the Developer on Friday at Laguna Niguel City Hall.

April 18 is also a crucial day for the City as it celebrates...

It is  slated to be held at Crown Valley Regional Park's Niguel Botanical Preserve.   We look forward to reporting on it here in South County Matters.
